Before becoming a guest blogger, think about why you want to do it. What do you want to achieve from guest blogging? Here are 9 reasons:

You want to attract and engage with a specific and targeted audience that needs your virtual assistant services.

Websites like Make a Living Writing provide a curated list of platforms that accept guest posts. The list is usually broken down into categories, making it easier to find relevant platforms for your niche.

Social Media Platforms

Tap into social media to find guest blogging discussions and recommendations. Follow hashtags related to your niche and join relevant groups to stay updated on potential opportunities. Take note of the common questions people are asking in these groups.

Platforms Where Your Competitors Are Guest Blogging

Are your competitors guest blogging? You may find this information on their media page. Visit the websites they contributed to and see if they’re accepting more posts. They might be open to your contributions as well. 

Open Platforms

Consider open platforms such as Medium, LinkedIn Articles, and Substack. They offer a space for you to contribute your articles and showcase your expertise to a wider audience.

Guest Blogging Communities

Join online communities or forums where bloggers and writers share guest posting opportunities. One example is MyBlogGuest. Actively participate in discussions, seek advice, and build connections within these communities to enhance your guest blogging experience.

 

Steps to Writing and Publishing Your Guest Blog Post

What are your passions? Where does your expertise lie?

Understanding the unique skills you bring to the table allows you to target guest blogging opportunities that align with your specific offerings and resonate with potential clients.

Step 2: Research Your Clients’ Needs

Understand your clients’ needs and challenges.  By tailoring guest blog topics that address their concerns ensures your content speaks directly to the pain points they are looking to solve while showcasing your expertise.

Step 3: Explore Potential Guest Blogging Topics for Client Attraction

Brainstorm topics that highlight the tangible benefits clients gain from working with you. Your content should position you as the solution to their challenges.

Step 4: Identify Platforms Attracting Your Clients

Research and compile a list of guest blogging platforms frequented by your potential clients. This step ensures that your valuable content reaches those actively seeking your virtual assistance services.

Step 5: Review Website Guidelines

Before approaching any platform, review their submission guidelines. Presenting your content in line with their expectations sets the stage for a positive first impression. Understand the following:

  • their preferred topics
  • formatting requirements
  • submission details

Create an engaging author bio that showcases your virtual assistant expertise and highlights how you help your clients.

Step 7: Write a Convincing Pitch

When reaching out to guest blogging platforms, customize your pitch to emphasize how your virtual assistant skills directly benefit their audience.

Clearly communicate the value you bring to potential clients. Include links to your published posts.

Step 8: Create High-Quality Content

Once accepted, focus on creating content that resonates with your ideal readers. Consider sharing examples of solutions you offered past clients.

Make sure to be discreet about clients’ information by excluding sensitive information and their names.
